That argument does not hold much weight with me.  

Secondly I am not sure.  I would say they are more libertarian, think about it

they abuse gun laws

deal drugs

and hate the government

Libertarians want very limited government are almost always extremely pro gun, and want all narcotics to be legal.

Gang members also tend to be very good business men, slinging rock is a business and requires some skill.

I would think that they vast majority of gang members never vote...

so they don't belong to either party...

a dog is closer to a bear than it is to a fish... but that doesn't make a dog a bear...
