  1. i actually think left tackle is the most overlooked position, but among those you listed it's definitely the fullback spot...most nfl fullbacks just block and catch and get a very occasional carry, but rarely do you see them get any of the glory...punter is a highly overlooked position as well because he controls field position more than any other guy on a team, and long snapper is overlooked also because it is a specialized position that not many can do, but i think the emergence of guys like devin hester have made the return specialists more notable

  2. OT

  3. Long Snapper is really overlooked, it is one of the hardest things to do! you have to keep it at the right height not that hard and not that slow you have to get that perfect spiral on the ball and still BLOCK!

  4. I agree about Ray Guy, but I would say fullback.  Lorenzo Neal, Mack Strong, Daryl Johnston, hmmmmmmmm.......think LT or Shaun Alexander, or Emmitt Smith could have been SO great without them?

  5. Return Man look at Devin Hester of the Bears, He is a Great Athlete but they overlook him and Nobody Pay attention when Desmond Howard helped the Packers win the Super Bowl 11 Years ago, so don't Ignore the Punt Returner he can help your team win Games.

  6. Out of those position here's here's how i list them from least overlooked to most overlooked.

Punter- Come on people the punter doesn't really do anything in football, he doesn't score any points for his team and when someone is returning a punt and they just need to get by the punter the punter never makes the stop.

Return Man- I don't think they are overlooked in the NFL at all, when ever a punt or kickoff or even a field goal is returned for a touch down of even just in side the 10 yard line they show it on T.V.

FullBack- The fullbacks are like the whole offense except the QB, they block, they can run the ball, and they can catch the ball. They're someone that you can keep back for an extra blocker, hand the ball off to at the goal line, and even throw it to.

Long Snapper- I think the long snapper is way overlooked because they have to snap the ball like 7 yards back on a field goal and like 10 yards back and still block someone. If the long snapper snaps the ball high or low on a punt the there is more time for the defense to block it and if it happens on a field goal the holder might not catch it or it kicker will miss the ball or have a bad kick.

  7. long snappers are really overlooked... and i dont really think... at least i dont overlook punters and fullbacks and return men... i think that the whole special teams is overlooked... just think... whenever Deven Hester got a kick return TD everyone congratulated him... if those blockers weren't there he would have been tackled at the 5 yard line... now dont get my wrong i think Deven Hester is great but i think they give him to much credit and not enough to the rest of the people when the other dudes do most of the work... another position is the DT... sure they are to flashy... they are just really really really big... they dont usually make very many tackles or anything like that... a defensive line just needs a big strong physical guy in the middle to anchor that line... sure he doesn't make to many tackles but he is the heart and soul of that line... and maybe the offensive line is overlooked a little bit... they do most of the hard work and a lot of people dont give em enough credit

    have a star!   good question!

  8. Punter, Ray Guy still isn't in the Hall Of Fame.

  9. I think the most overlooked position is the Tight End.  that is why I hate the Cover 2 defense.  It tends to leave the Tight End open for a quick out route or audible into a slot post to hit the TE close to the endzone but 9 times out of 10 getting the 1st down.  I think a Defensive tackle is very overlooked as well.  That is why all the blind sides on the QB.  RF

  10. I think that the long snapper is hard, although with lots of practice it probably gets to be a piece of cake.

the return man to be is MUCH more difficult than most people think.  Finding the holes and just deciding which way to run (middle right left etc.) is very hard.

Punting is hard for the normal person, but think about how much these guys practice!!! Its basically their job, so its not as hard as it looks.

and the fulback is under-used in the NFL now-a-days.  There are some good fullbacks in the NFL, but now there used for blocking, basically a smaller more tactical lineman.

OVERALL: Return man (  AKA DEVIN HESTER)  and Fullback

P.S i agree-VIKINGS are going to be good

  11. Long Snapper

    i Can't even name one

    It is very hard

and they should earn more then the kicker

  12. Every position that plays on the line. I mean, football starts on the line. Most of the time, it's the o-line and the d-line that decides a game. Remember the Super Bowl? The Pats had arguably one of the best QB-WR-RB-TE sets of all-time, yet all of those players looked terrible thanks (almost solely) to the Giants' D-linemen Tuck, Strahan, Umenyiora, Robbins, and Coffield.

  13. Long snapper, to kick a game-winning kick, you need to start on the snap if the snap it bad, chances are the kick is bad as well, just ask Lawrence Tynes

  14. Punter, Ray Guy needs to be voted into the Hall Of Fame.

C'mon.. the best punter who ever lived..

  15. the fertilizer man that collects the waste from the locker room to keep the field nice and green

  16. Long Snapper
