I'm going to be going on a 3000 mile trip fairly soon and I'm wonder what would be the most reliable Sedan that would hold up for that distance.

  1. The Avalon would be a fine choice for a long trip. The other cars that people are mentioning are fine too. But for all around luxury, comfy seats, & stereo, the Avalon is great. It's been on Consumer Reports recommended list for years. Happy trails.

  2. A toyota corolla, camry or honda sedans like the accord and civic

  3. Avalon would definitely hold up through the journey, and would be very comfortable to do it in.

I currently have a 2008 TL, and it is a great highway car. It gets 33 mpg, which is excellent, seeing as it is a sports sedan. You can get a great price on it, for the model's current style is leaving for 2009, where a new one is coming in. Also, it is a great deal for the money you spend, there are a lot of features standard with the car. The only option is the navigation system, which might come in handy.

I would recommend a car with a better ride, like an Accord or Camry, although if you want the Camry, just get the Avalon.

If you are traveling alone, then a smaller car will be easier to deal with, so a Civic or a Corolla would be good. The Corolla (2009) has great great gas mileage and has a very nice ride, like any Toyota or Lexus. The Civic has more road noise, but is still worth it for getting a bunch of features and nice extras.

Finally, I would also suggest a Lexus ES350. It is reliable and comfortable. Although it is a bit expensive, it's one of the most comfortable cars I have ever driven in. It is sure to hold up that journey, and will probably be great on the highway.

To sum up what I just said, the cars I would consider are the Acura TL, Lexus ES350, Toyota Avalon, and the Toyota Corolla.

    Good luck!

  4. Honda Accord.

I own one and touch wood, till date, no problems.

  5. Three thousand miles isn't enough to test the limits of most cars' reliability. You'll be wise to keep an eye on the oil situation but otherwise just pump gas into it regularly and most cars should survive 3000 miles. That's not much, if you think about it. And the Avalon is a Toyota so you know you've got a pretty good shot at a decent car there. It's not as accessible as a Camry or Corolla simply because of its ever-so-slightly higher pricetag but it's not a bad car. If it isn't 15 years old, you shouldn't bat an eyelash at an Avalon's ability to tackle 3000 miles. No sweat.

    Enjoy your trip.

  6. Honda Civic is the best, hope u will get 2008 or 2009

  7. I regularly take trips that long in 10 or 20 year old cars. Buy Japanese. Change the oil before you go and after you get back.
