Most balls you've hit at the golf range?

today i hit 500 balls

it was wet and windy so the course wasnt an option but i still felt like playing

i think thats the most i have ever hit at one trip to the range

Most of the time I hit 2 large buckets (about 220 balls).  The most I've ever hit in one session on the range is 3 buckets and some left overs from my friends, so I guess it would be around 350.  My hands just can't handle any more than that.

I usually hit I'd guess about 30. I try not to hit too many, to save energy in case I play the next day. I focus more on my short game than my long game, because I need more focus on my short game.

The number depend on whether you want to swat a lot or gain some accuracy for your practice,. My use of the range is to get loose, hit 10 or so pitching wedges, perhaps 5 long irons, the same number of a fairway wood and possibly a couple of drives or 30 balls at the most.

My dad and his best friend own a small 9 hole Par 3 in Wisconsin with a driving range.  When I was young and new to the game I would go to the course with my dad when he went to work on it and hit family size buckets (150 balls/ bucket) all day.  One time I hit 8 buckets in the 5 hours or so that we were there.  So 1200 balls would be my answer.

When I first decided to get serious about my game, I would go to the range four or five nights a week and hit 200-250 balls each time. My hands would bleed, but I got my swing grooved and took a lot of strokes off my game. Golf is a muscle memory game and only through (quality) practice do you develop muscle memory.
