What would happen if scientists managed to genetically engineer/ or get a great white and killer whale to mate, would you end up with a mammal or a fish as a baby?

If this creature was created, would it be the most dominant predator in the sea?

  1. well i guess it all depends on genes.

    Killer whales have mm(mammals)

    Sharks Have ff(Fish

if it has FF then its fish,MM mammel, FM fish, MF mammal.

i would guess it would be since killer whales and sharks are two of the most dominant then this creature would be the most dominant creature

  2. Well, I'm sure you're aware that a killer whale is closer to a dolphin than an actual whale.  But a great white Shark is a regular fish, though it's interesting that some sharks, including great whites, actually give live birth to their kids, they are called pups, and nurse them for a time.  So in that fashion, they are similar to killer whales.  But the genetic differences (including different numbers of chromosomes, are so great, I think it would be impossible to get a hybrid of any kind.

That being said, I REAL shark the size of a whale, existed say 60 million years ago, and I'm sure was the most dominant predator on Earth.  I think this Killer Shark, would find itself on top of the food chain as well.

  3. I suspect that this mating is impossible.  The shark is a fish, and the orca is a mammal.  Sharks do not have bones, but orcas do.  Sharks have gills, and orcas have lungs.

The differences are so great that mating is probably impossible.
