  1. The most important thing is that you listen to your teacher carefully and go on the tracks she tells you to go on. Always have some practice at home and then ask questions to your teacher at school. You can ask her again and again your problems and never hesitate.

  2. That completely depends on each individual. Some people are visual learners and learn best by seeing it. Others are hands on learners, they learn by doing. Still, others learn best by hearing. You have to find your own best way.

But the one thing you should have is quiet, that helps.

  3. It has been proven by research that the more a person interacts with the material, the more they will retain. This can mean many things, but it doesn't mean sitting around listening to lectures. It means using what is learned immediately in some way. Sometimes when I am teaching, I present an idea to a group and then give them a situation to solve using the idea. I have them work in pairs or small groups so that they really are forced to be a part of the interaction.

  4. The more ways you experience, digest, and demonstrate new knowledge the quicker you will "learn" it. That is, the more pathways and neural networks your brain creates to utilize this skill, the better it absorbs and retains/retrieves it.

If you can spell it, sing it, dance it, draw it, paint it, read it, act it out, and then teach it...you learn it much more fully than just reading it in a book.

There is a difference between "learning" something and knowing something.

Caveat emptor: there are about as many schools of thought about learning as there are fish in the sea....the main hitters are typically, Skinner, Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, Gardner, Goldman, Senghe........

    Good Luck!
