Question:

Most forgiving Driver?

What are some of the most forgiving golf drivers out there. I'm starting my fourth year and am looking for something that has decent distance and is more importantly very forgiving.

I'm trying to keep it under $200, but noticed that clubs about a year old sell for that used on ebay.

  1. Most clubs sell for right at $200 new, once they have been replaced by a newer model which happens every year.  Nike, Taylormade, Cleveland, Adams, Cobra, and others have clubs like this.

  2. Compared to clubs of even five years ago, most modern drivers are incredibly forgiving. The best answer is to get fitted for a club. But if you're going to simply buy a used driver, consider the big names:TaylorMade, Ping and Callaway. Get one with a higher loft, as that will be more forgiving and accurate.

The StealGolf.Com website sorts out the Ebay club listings by manufacturer and club type. http://www.stealgolf.com You might try looking there to get an idea about types and prices.

  3. any 460cc head driver - usually last years models are less than 200. I like my Nike Ignite at 149 bucks @ Golf Galaxy.

  4. Beware of purchasing clubs on eBay.  Some of the crooks out there have gotten real good at making counterfeit clubs that look nearly as good as the original.

Callaway is known for making good drivers that are forgiving and they also have a site where you can buy preowned clubs that are authentic.  Golf Digest gave the FT-5 real high marks last year.

I included the link if you're interested.  Once you get to the site, just click on "drivers" and go from there.

  5. Taylormade Burner, not questions asked.  Easy to hit, instills confidence, very forgiving.

  6. Cobra and Taylormade Burner are probably the most forgiving.  But in your fourth year have you given up on improving your ball striking and now you are just hoping equipment can help you?  You should get an old persimmon wooden driver and use that for a couple of years so you have to strike it on the sweet spot.  When you get to be over 60 years old then go to the game improvement clubs.
