Of all natural disasters that could possibly occur, which would you be most frightened to be in the heart of, and why?

Would knowing that you're in the heart of a 9.0 earthquake terrify you? Would being with 5 miles of a major errupting volcano horrify you? How about living on the ocean side during an enormous tsunami? Witnessing an F5 Tornado in the middle of a city?

  1. Earthquake of more than 8 In Richter scale. No doubt the volcano also major one.But the number of casualty will be less when comparing earthquakes. You may say again Tsunami. It is purely our mistake that we failed to alert in time. Because I have alerted 2 hours before Tsunami struck our coast .My warning was ignored. Even after three years after several scientists and seismologist appreciated my way of observation they nodal agency never took interest to find the fact. But in the case of earthquakes we have not yet found the proper fore warning mechanism.

  2. The question you ask concerns the emotional aspect of the disaster, not the amount of physical damage.  Therefore, I will answer the question using the emotional aspect rather than the physical aspect of the problem.

If you want to have a frightening experience, visit an oncologist who tells you that you have incurable cancer.

  3. All natural disasters are scary. In my opinion, the most frightening natural disaster is an eruption of a Super Volcano nearby. That's because it would kill lots of people, destroy the town and even breathing the air would be bad for your lungs. Also, along with that the sky would be thundering and there would be lots of dust in the air.

  4. for sure, the earthquake.... tough to be five miles from a volcano, but I'd prob be dead anyway.... tsunami could be told it was coming... same with hurricane and tornado... but earthquakes are total unknowns.... no prediction, no way to tell if it's gonna be a short or long one or how strong or if there will be aftershocks.... that is the one total loss of control and power for a human.....

  5. i live on the east coast so i would say the tsunami or a hurricane

  6. I live in Omaha, NE which is part of tornado alley, and I'd live here anyday over Los Angeles with the absolute unknown of major earthquakes.  In an earthquake, there is no warning, and nowhere to hide.  With tornadoes, you have at least some warning, and you can seek shelter.  Meteorologists can track the storm from its inception and monitor it's strength to see if it gets severe enough for a tornado.
