this year’s post-season.
Here is an overview of most impressive individual performers of the 2011 MLB post-season.
Matt Moore:
The Tampa Bay Rays’ rookie pitcher Matt Moore showed some brilliant performance in the post-season. He proved his tremendous hidden talent that outplayed the Rangers’ top batters in seven innings. Though, he played only one post-season game against the Texas
Rangers on September 30, 2011 but that particular game brought him into the lime-light of best performers of the 2011 post-season.
He pitched with great energy, striking out six and received only two hits in seven scoreless innings. Though, Tampa Bay could not do well in the series against the Rangers, but this young sensation certainly proved his valour that will also prove beneficial
for his team in upcoming seasons.
Chris Carpenter:
Veteran Chris Carpenter has been proving to be wonderful for the St. Louis Cardinals in this year’s MLB post-season. His stats are highly competitive with any other top pitcher in the league. So far, he has pitched 17 innings with a 3.71 ERA and 1.18 WHIP.
Mike Napoli:
The Texas Rangers’ star hitter Mike Napoli is also one of the top performers of the 2011 MLB post-season. Not only is he performing well in the post-season, but he has also played tremendously well in the regular season. He entered in the post-season with
great energy and helped his team on many occasions with his terrific individual performance.
He is hitting enormously well with an average of .316 after playing 10 post-season games. He has hit nine home-runs and five RBIs with a .395 SLG average.
Yovani Gallardo:
The Milwaukee Brewers’ pitcher Yovani Gallardo had a brilliant 2011 regular season. He played a total of 33 games with a 3.52 ERA. Later, he entered into the post-season with huge energy striking out 16 in only three games and earned great acknowledgement
from Brewers’ entire coaching staff including many baseball experts. He pitched tremendously in those three particular games and fought hard against the St. Louis Cardinals. Justin Verlander of Detroit Tigers is the only player in the post-season that has
a better record than Gallardo in playoff inning pitched.
Alexi Ogando:
The Texas Rangers have qualified for the World Series beating the Detroit Tigers in their best of seven American League Championship Series but this great achievement is also subject to Alexi Ogando’s terrific pitching. He proved to be a wonderful addition
for the Rangers especially in last three games.
