Most improved players in the English Premier League – Clint Dempsey, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 and Van Persie (Part 1)
After elaborating on the flops of the Premier League 2010-2011 season earlier on in the week, it is now time to shed some light on the most improved players in the English Premier League. Some of the players in the English league
improved on their performances from the previous seasons and thus it is only fair to recognize them for these improvements...
Clint Dempsey
Dempsey has never been seen as a prolific goal scorer for his club side Fulham but in the 2010-2011 season, the American midfielder netted 12 goals in the English Premier League which was a new career high for the former New http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749
man. Termed by some of his critics as a poor man’s Frank Lampard, Dempsey has steadily improved at Fulham. Under Mark Hughes’ guidance, Dempsey evolved his game to a higher level as he started as an auxiliary striker at Craven Cottage.
The offensive midfielder was deployed earlier on in the season as a secondary striker as a supporting element for Moussa Dembele but later on when Dembele got injured; Dempsey performed the solitary striker’s role to a great effect
for Fulham. The American playmaker is also capable of dropping deep and playing in central midfield or on the wings as well where he earned his fame when he used to play in the Major League Soccer.
Next season will be a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitalô-c40903 one for Dempsey who is already 28 years old. When he was bought by Fulham for only 1.5 million pounds, Dempsey was seen yet another American reject who wanted to make his name in the English Premier
League. Thus far he has defied his critics superbly as he has cemented himself a regular starter at Fulham. In the summer transfer window, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are thought to be interested in the midfielder’s signature whilst Tottenham are also sniffing around. His performances
for U.S.A in the Gold Cup have only added to his price tag.
Chris Brunt
Brunt was seen as an exciting addition to the English Premier League when the West Bromwich Albion midfielder made his Premier League debut back in August of 2010. In the Championships, Brunt scored 13 goals for West Bromwich in
their attempt to gain a place in the 2010-2011 Premier League season. The Northern Irishman’s heroic performances propelled the Baggies to Premier League status but Brunt totally redefined his game in the Premier League.
Rather than resuming his goal scoring exploits the creative midfielder turned into the inspirational spark that his team needed especially in the latter half of the season. Brunt played a pivotal role in West Bromwich’s survival
campaign and now the Baggies must keep hold of their priced asset if they want to stay in the Premier League for another year.
In the 2010-2011 Premier League season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Brunt became known for his long range belters and his penetrative passing. He contributed with 11 assists and 4 goals. One can only value Brunt’s contributions by comparing them to
other players in the Premier League as the Northern Irishman assisted more goals than both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 combined.
