Most messed up anime ever?

watched elfen lied series recently and cant get over how messed up it is and the fact its rated 15 in japan o.0

anyone else seen a more messed up anime or think this one tops the list

Elfen Lied is pretty bad but I think Koroshiya 1 is worse.

The movie Ichi The Killer is bad but the anime prequel is extrememly disturbing.

A story about a guy who grows up listening to his mom getting beaten (during s*x) because his parents get off on it, begins to kill people as a way to reach sexual gratification.

People learn to use his pervision to get him to kill who they want.

It's very disturbing.

My suggestion is Old Boy, though I noticed several bad *** series, movies etc listed. Old Boy's the only thing that's ever made me cringe. It's really disturbing self inflicted pain.

"Now and Then, Here and There" was pretty dark (genocide, torture, child exploitation), although not nearly as graphic as Elfen Lied.

"Higurashi no Naku Koro ni" is another one. Can't go wrong with killer lolis.

Koroshiya is WAY too messed up. >_<

I've seen only the movie, and no way in h**l I'm going to read the manga counterpart.

Cat Soup is really wierd. It's not a series but it's pretty messed up. I'm certain there were a lot of things that got lost in the cultural gap. :/
