Most of Boxing Is fixed you agree Proof? Thanks to Politics And Oscar DE LA HOYS?

My opinion : Kelly Pavlik is the present and future in American boxing. Mr. Arum better keep his eyes open because its very clear to me that Hopkins is only fighting Pavlik as a business move for Golden Boy Promotions. They are trying to court and recruit Kelly Pavlik to their team. This fight is just to gain Pavlik's respect and to show him how they do business and promote fights. Why do you think Hopkins had nothing but good things to say about Pavlik at their press conference? He is on his best behavior because Pavlik is like a Lebron James. He's the #1 draft pick and a franchise player. Whoever has the rights to Pavlik will have the best boxer for the next 5-8 years and the top earning potential that comes along with him. With Oscar retiring and Sugar Shane and Hopkins on their way out they are looking for a new cash cow. At 44 yrs old Hopkins really has nothing to gain by fighting Pavlik. Thats why when you look at the fight it doesnt make sense until you look at the behind the scenes part of it. Hopkins had already previously stated that he wouldnt fight anyone under 35. Why change that now for a non championship fight?? Hopkins is a sure Hall of Famer and losing this fight won't hurt his legacy. Gaining Pavlik to the Golden boy team will add money to his bank account for a time to come. Look for GBP to sign Pavlik when he becomes a free agent or try to buyout his contract.

the guy is overrated,he is just too hit-able to last.not my idea of a great fighter,that goes for both of them.they should be remembered as the two guys who made the most of a poor era in middleweight boxing

That's an interesting take on the fight. It makes good business sense for Golden Boy, and it certainly sounds like there could be an element of truth to it.

But surely you don't mean to suggest that Hopkins will throw the fight, do you? I think everyone who has watched Bernard throughout the years knows he has far too much pride to do something like that.

I think you've presented a logical argument for why this fight might be a way for Golden Boy to steal Pavlik from Top Rank, but I don't understand what this has to do with boxing being fixed.
