  1. You usually last a lot longer as you get hit a lot less when you box than when you brawl as you take a lot less punishment.  The trick is to hit and not get hit using good defensive tactics and boxing skills like blocking and parrying punches.  Don't get me wrong here as there have been some great brawlers in boxing history like Marciano, Frazier, etc that were successful and pretty much had to fight that style because of thei lack of reach etc .

  2. a boxer with a geat chin can most of the time beat the brawler

  3. Speaking for myself, I can enjoy watching 2 "boxers" go the distance, provided it is at a good pace, but brawls are much more exciting.

I would bet the majority of spectators come for brawls and could care less about seeing 2 "boxers".

  4. only when your opponent weighs much more than you, or is much stronger physically

  5. No, we want to see action! We want to see someone kick butt, not run around and dance.

  6. It is best to use the style that favors you as a boxer, and also one that gives you the best chance of beating your opponent.

Barerra adapted his brawling style to pure boxing to beat Prince Naseem.

Ali adapted his boxing style to infighting in order to tire George Foreman: then he won with a boxing knockout.

Marciano's physique, shorter reach, and great power were best served by an exclusive brawling style.

Larry Holmes based his career on his long reaching jab, using pure boxing.

It is always better to use the style that suits you and the situation.

  7. throw down like theirs no tomorrow

  8. Professional Boxing Fights?Spectators love to see a brawl, while in Amateur boxing, its better to outbox an opponent.

  9. well, i'll just say its better to fight smart (box), rather then brawl (go in doing the windmill-- with your chin sticking out, and hope to land a lucky punch -- or two).

if you intend to win you're better off keeping your emotions in check, be calculated & use speed and combos to take your opponent out.  i tend to see lots of emotion in brawling and that wastes time, clouds your mind and most importantly it wastes energy which could be channeled toward landing awesome combos and finishing your opponent off!

  10. Only if your winning.  If your losing, change styles, it confuses your opponent.

  11. How about a push-up contest?

    A sprint?

    Posture lock competition?

Maybe see who can read the most quality books in a week?

  12. Well depending on your skill level, also your style if you have the gift of speed then you can Box very well fighting off the jab setting combos up.

But if you are a puncher meaning you have power and a good chin then you can be a brawler and go all out,,

Tyson had the best of both worlds,

Only thing Fighters who have the brawler mentality dont have such long careers in prize fighting because all those punches start to effect them out of the ring,

But the guy who Box you know meaning they fight smart can have a VERY long succesful career, ie bernard Hopkins

  13. In real life? Best to hit first and hit hard.

  14. All depends on what type of fighter you are (inside the ring)

some fighters are naturally gifted so they box as some are as hard as nails so they brawl, as I've said it all depends on yourself -IE hand speed, movement, etc.!

great fighters like Mayweather & Calzaghe adapt to any opponets inside the ring.

  15. Well the boxer usually wins because a boxer is a smart fighter
