Yes, I believe he deserves a holiday, although he is not royal, and this question is misplaced.  Having the last name King does not make you royal, LOL.  He was a great leader who showed that change could be made through peaceful means and takes his place along with Gandhi and Mandela, as people who have achieved political change without force.
