  4. Depends ... are you looking for Visayan, Tagalog or Ilocano areas? (I know these are various dialects, but each area has it's own dialect)

    Depends on the area as to what type of dish they serve.  For example, some areas eat blood sausage while other areas find it offensive.

    Lechon, pancit, sari-sari, pork guisantes, adobo, balut, mung beans, lumpia - these are all the "well known" dishes, and there are actually many more, depends on where your friends/family are from.  :)

  5. lechon(roast suckling pig) almost everyone in the philippines knows it. its the star of any occasion.

    for everyday fare, adobo, fried galungong, menudo, you can find these in any carinderia here in the philippines.

  11. why don't you try my humba.this recipe goes well with rice ,pasta and bread unknown to many filipinos!it could be pork,beef or chicken!ok- slice meat,wash and place them in a pan with cover,just add soy sauce,vinegar,chilli,onion,garlic,laurel or bay leaf,little bit sugar and cover and boil until thick sauce in medium flame.you may add boiled potato,cooked cauliflower,cooked carrots and other vegetables(separately cooked).if done,you may eat the recipe with cooked white rice. but if you will pair it with pasta,re-heat and add tomato or spagetti sauce and you will  have super pasta sauce!
