  5. yes baseball was very famous and popular but u are forgetting another important sport: boxing. then boxing was getting more famous and advanced!

  9. At that time it would have most definitely been baseball.  A lot of baseball stars (ie Ted Williams) were drafted or joined the military during WWII.  After they came back from the war and began playing again, baseball popularity boomed to even greater heights.
