  1. Only full auto machine guns registered with NFA before 1986 are available.  There are quite a few operating relics from WWI and WWII in the system.  I would expect the 50 Browning Machine Gun used for both anti-aircarft and material destruction would the be most powerful you could buy today.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Any machine gun that is not controlled by the government becaause it is a secret, is legal if you do the required paperwork and pay the fees to own it.  Look at what the guy who owns Dillon Reloading owns.  he has about every kind of maching gun made.  He even has one of the modern gatling guns and a quad fifty.  Gather up your money and fill out the required paperework and you, too, can own a gatling gun or a quad fifty.

  3. Question:  most powerful legal machine gun?

Answer:  At least in the USA machine guns are restricted.  If you want to call that 'legal' then you'll have to find one manufacture before 1986 so that you can legally own it after jumping throw hoops and spending a lot of cash.  Caliber wise the most powerful one is going to be chambered in .50 BMG.

  4. The .50 caliber Browning M2HB is the machine gun firing the most powerful ROUND, but for sheer lead delivery, the M134 General Electric 7.62X51 NATO Mini-gun is the fastest firing machine gun availble.

    Have a looksee...

also look at videos of both these guns on Youtube.

  5. What is the most powerful machine gun manufactured before May 1986?  I have seen a privately owned Mk19 40mm automatic grenade launcher and several 20mm Oerlikon full auto cannons. I would not be surprised if there are a few bigger machine guns out there in private collections.

  6. Why would you want a machine gun for hunting? Their really dangerous and it takes away the whole skill.
