  1. Don't make this more confusing than it already is

  2. There were things like chickens, other bird forms, they mated and laid eggs, a mutation occurred and out came a chicken, which went on to mate and make more chickens and the chickens adapted better than the other bird so the first birds died out and the chickens took over.

  3. After exhausting my resources I have decided that your answer is and must be 42.

  4. i wrote this answer on the YA,When i spoke about the universe getting created from nothingness...which is me...

  5. The egg came before the chicken.

Species change over time in the process of evolution. Since DNA can only be modified before birth, a mutation must have taken place at conception or within an egg such that a non-chicken mother laid the first chicken egg.

The modern chicken was believed to have descended from another closely related species of birds, the red junglefowl, but recently discovered genetic evidence suggests that the modern domestic chicken is a hybrid descendant of both the red junglefowl and the grey junglefowl.

  6. Get the chicken and the egg both good and drunk, rent a cheap motel room and let them do the nasty. That'll show which one came first.

  7. There is a saying that something can't come from nothing, so there never was a before chicken.

  8. perverts have always been around!.

  9. If evolution is to be believed, then the creatures that mated to produce the first chicken did not necessarily have to be chickens, but the combination and subsequent mutations of their DNA that occurred in the egg formed the first chicken, which then hatched from the egg.

    So the egg came first.

  10. Chickens dont have to mate to lay an Egg.

  11. a chicken-like dinosaur

  12. Of course the chicken came before the egg, but what came before the chicken!

Logic predicates that something evolved into the chicken and, before that creature came a whole series of evolutionary developments, right the way back to the amoeba.

Now we all know that single celled life procreate by cell division and eveolved into ever more complex multi-cellular plants and animals. The plants came first, using all sorts of assexual procreative methods.

It is reasonable to assume that the earliest complex muticellular beings will have become so complex as to need to procreate by the deposition of spores (primitive eggs). Therefore it would be only a matter of evolutionary development before the spore became a recognisable egg.

As for the sexual bit and the requirement for male fertilisation......... well history is full of amusing jokes............

  13. Well, according to the bible God created birds on the 4th or 5th day, something like that - maybe they mated and along came the egg?
