the first time, i am driving to calgary from toronto soon by myself, i choose hwy of canada. could u please help me find

motels on the way. thanks.

  1. There are too many for anyone to list them. Just take a good map with you, plan to stop in larger towns and cities, and find one when you get there. Stop early for the day,you'll have a better chance of finding a room. Since it's summer and light enough to drive by 5 am, leave early too. You could also check websites for the chain hotels and see where they have locations, but you will usually only find the chains in the cities not in smaller places. Try Ramada, Super 8, Best Western, Holiday Inn.


  2. If you are sticking to the Trans Canada Highway, there will be no problem finding a motel or hotel. If you like the cozy little out of the way and quite rural places there are many of those, then of course every big city or town will have the chains.  Northern Ontario will be the longest and quietest part of your trip, but there are still many small privately owned motels along the highway.  You will have plenty of time to find one as the day draws to an end.  I have travel ed on that highway many times.
