Mother's Day Chaat Party ideas?

I was planning to invite my mom & all my "aunties" over for a Mother's Day brunch, I was think of doing a chaat party. Any ideas or suggestions?

  2. ***CHAAT MASALA***

    Ingredients

    6 teaspoons cumin seed, lightly roasted on a griddle for 1 min. and then ground

    3 teaspoons amchur powder (dried raw mango powder)

    2 teaspoons black salt

    1/2 teaspoon white salt

    1 teaspoon paprika

    Directions

    1) Mix all the above ingredients and store in a bottle.

    2) Can be used for sprinkling over fruit, salad, cooked vegetables, fried potatoes, boiled potatoes, tandoori or roasted meats.

    ***FRUIT CHAAT***

    Ingredients

    For the chaat

    1 cup papaya, diced

    3/4 cup pineapple, diced

    1 cup apple, diced

    1/2 cup banana, diced

    4-5 gooseberries, cut into2 halves each (optional)

    1/4 cup black and green grapes

    1 cup cucumber, peeled and diced

    10-12 cherry tomato, cut into 2 halves

    1/2 cup boiled potato, diced

    1/2 cup crimson yam, boiled and diced (optional)

    2 green chilies, finely chopped

    1 tablespoon chopped coriander

    For the seasoning

    1 tablespoon green chutney

    1 tablespoon tamarind chutney

    1/4 teaspoon black salt

    1/2 teaspoon roasted ground cumin (jeera)

    1 teaspoon chat masala

    1/4 teaspoon chili powder

    1/2 lemon, juice of

    3 sprigs mint leaf

    salt

    Directions

    1) Combine all the chaat ingredients in a bowl and toss well with the seasoning.

    2) Serve immediately.

    My picks:  Gulab Lassi or Thandai, Fruit chaat, Bhel Puri, Pani Puri, Dhokla....

  4. Yup here's a suggestion from this Aunty( though not invited but do let us know how it went )

    Pani puri,Bhel Puri(all ingrediends separate and mixed by the guests), Aloo ki chaat,aloo tikki aur Chole,Fruit chaat,Samosa,kachori,Usal,Misal,Dahi wada,Ragda Pattise,Pakoras...
