  1. I think the doctor will look and do a urine test. I would explain to your daughter before the appointment that the dr. may need to look at her privates and explain the "gray area" of the 'no one should touch you there' rule. Make sure to tell her you will be in the room with her. But she will sense if you are uncomfortable with it which will make her uncomfortable too. The gray areas of rules are so hard to explain!! Good luck!

  2. no they wont check her there....first of all they will make a urine test and if necessary they will do an ultrasound...(I suppose your girl is still pretty young...)dont worry...sounds like an infection and will get better soon.

  3. I am sure a urine test will be in order. But if she is burning, it may be signs of other infections that need to be seen. My daughter had a yeast infection when she was a baby. I thought it was just an ordinary rash. The doctor needed to see to diagnose and provide correct treatment (In her case, a medicated cream worked). Does your daughter drink water because it might help her to drink more water. Please allow the doctor to examine her if her doctor feels the need so she can be properly treated. You do have the right to be present in the exam room, as I did when my daughter was checked. She had a female pediatrician, maybe that made it easier, but I would've allowed her to be checked, and I'm glad I did. Of course, it's your decision, you are the mother, but if the doctor feels a need to check your daughter, I hope you can understand for her sake.  I do hope it's nothing serious. Good Luck.

  4. How old is your daughter? As a parent of a 3yr. ol, I know how you feel. We had to have her checked not to long ago because she was digging at her privates all the time. It turned out there was a thin layer of skin growing down there. My doctor told me it is quite normal, gave me a cream to put on it for a few weeks and it went away. You do what you have to for your little girl, take her to a female doctor, she will be more comfortableand I think you will be too.

  5. Depends on how old she is and what's wrong with her.  If she's little, they might do a check of the outside area, if it's necessary.  I don't think they would do an internal exam unless she's old enough for it.  When I was 12 I had a yeast infection, and my stepmom took me to the doctor.  He took a look at the outside and prescribed a cream, but he told me to only put it on the outside, since I hadn't had my first period yet.

  6. the way a real mother acts when that happens when their little girls.

  7. How old is she and can you see any irritation on her gentials? I am sure they will start with a urine test, but if there is any reason to think she may have been sexually active they may very well want to examine that area.

  8. It depends on the doctor, but you can tell him your preferences. You are her mom and you have control of what the doctor does. Tell him you suspect a urinary tract infection and go from there.

  9. it is probaly a bladder infection it will be a urine sample no need to worry.

  10. if your worried about that try yeast infection meds first and if that does not stop it than take her to a obgyn not just a general pract.also it is getting to be warm weather and that will cause yeast also has she changed to a new type of under pants I cannot wear silk with out getting irritated

  11. depending on what she is being seen for, if you think that its a possible UTI or something like that then chances are that they will just do a urine test, if you think that she has been abused or something like then they will have to do an exam

  12. Most often, they will do a urine test. They may take a look to make sure that there is no infection of the skin. You should be able to be there to hold her or help check.  There may also be a nurse in the room.  It is best to get her checked. Best for her health.  My daughter had a UTI, and she gets them constantly now because she had Scarlet Fever last year and ended up in All Childrens Hospital and they have to check for skin infections because of the urine irritation due to loss of bladder control. The check may be a little uncomfortable, but At least you can be there. Often, children can get a yeast infection on the skin down there when they have a UTI.  If it is not a UTI, then it is best to check and find out what it is, so you can get it taken care of asap. :)
