so i replace my cpu fan with a brand new one. When i turned my computer on, i saw sparks where the 4 pin connector connects to the motherboard. I know for sure that my power supply is dead, but not sure if my mobo is. I could just plug in a another power supply but the thing is that i dont have one that supports my mobo ( need aleast 750 watts with a 8 pin connector) So i went ahead and found a spare power supply and plugged in the main connector( THE 24 PIN only) to the mobo and saw a green light on the board... so my question is, is my mobo dead? trying to figure out if i need to buy a new mobo or a power supply

  1. the best way to do is to try ur power supply into other systems??? if yes it would be your mobo that has the prob.

  2. you sould try you power supply first.

because you dont want to buy unessary thing.

if it dosnt work theres only one answer left.

  3. Well I really don't think I would buy a 280 or a 4870x2, some DDR3 ram and an QX9775 on that board!
