Mother in law coming to visit

We don't love each other and I've been ready to kick my husband to the curb. His bi-polar state is unbearable. He Just got fired 3 days ago & his temper is always out of control. He emotionally abuses me constantly. Should I give up my bed because she's gracing us with her 1 time out of 8yrs visit? He says I have no say so in this matter. I must give up our bed, or compromise by sleeping with her. MATURE RESPONSES PLEASE.

I would not give up my bed for no one. Let him know that. If you have a guest bed let him know if its good enough for the mother in law. As for the husband, seriously kick him to the curb. He needs to seek medical advice for his bipolar. Is he on medication? If not he should get on it. But in all honesty. I think it's time to leave.

Run for your life!  No seriously you don't have to give up your bed.  This is her first visit in 8 years,  she can sleep on the couch and if she doesn't like that send her to a hotel.

Get the h**l out before she even comes. And if that isn't possible,

then make her sleep on the couch. It is YOUR bed and its not liek YOU personally invited her to stay with you.

What? How long have you been together? Does he see a professional for his bipolar? Are there children involved? Why if you don't love each other do you stay with him. I would no way give up my bed. You do have a choice you are an adult. JUST SAY NO. If he is physically abusive call the police and get out before you get hurt badly. I know you do not say that in your post but I know how bipolars can rage. Sounds like you have some tough decisions to make. Maybe he needs to get a room and visit mom there!

Well by the sound of it you would be better sleeping with your mother in law than with your husband! Have you tried talking it over with his mum?  I would share the bed with her and let him have the sofa!  If it still isnt working out then end it and move on with your life - you only get one try at it!
