  1. Are you staying with her? If you are then it's more difficult to avoid conflict, I suggest moving out on your own but if she has actually moved in with you than that is another story. You can try to be diplomatic and blind at the same time. I strongly suggest massage of any kind, spa and lots of chinese tea to kool down.

  2. learn to live with it

  3. don't let her get to you, ignore her comments if she makes them at you. Do it for your husband and your children. It will be worth it and you will be the better person and your husband will see that you are not the problem, hope this helps

  4. Sometimes they take time to develop just as any other relationship.  Don't expect to jump in and be instant friends. Take the time and patience to "become" friends.  We are all different and be mature enough to realize this.  Maybe you can learn from each other.

Try and remember to include her in your lives.  She didn't stop being a mother the day you got married.  As a mother having my son happy was of the utmost importance.  I was very anxious and excited to have a daughter-in-law and having another member in our family.  I will tell you it took time for all of us to find  our new boundaries in life.

There is no reason why a mother and son cannot have a close relationship just as a mother and daughter and unless you are in that position you have no idea.    Just remember your husband is still a son, brother, cousin, friend, ect.  He should not be expected to end those relationships  and hopefully you would become a valuable person in each and every one of those relationships he has.  Don't be jealous of your mother-in-law.  She has a completely different relationship with your hubby and I bet he has enough love for all of you.

Good things come to those who wait.

  5. Just live your life with your husband. Afterall you're not married to his mother.

  6. I'm sorry but you can't win over a mother in law unless you have a strong husband that will stand up  for you instead of his mother.

My daughter's husband thinks his mother can do no wrong.

    Good luck!

  7. 1. Because some parents think their kids walk on water and can do no wrong (it's always because of the spouse)

    2. Some mother's are in competition with the wife of their son. As sick as that sounds.

    3. Most men who are not mama's boys respect and love their mother but are not attached at the hip.  Some mom's especially the ones with no daughters of their own would like to have a mother son relationship like a mother daughter relationship and that usually doesn't work out.

Most grown men don't want to be treated like they are 5 by their mother.

    4. Because some mom's blame the daughter in law for the poor or lack of relationship with their son.
