Is there any other places in the world that are similar, i.e water turning anything to stone?

  1. Water itself doesnt turn things to stone its the impurities contained in it.

    Most older caves have stalatites and stalagmites which are effectively the same


  2. Mother Shipton's Cave has a "Petrifying Well".

    A petrifying well is a well with the mythical ability to turn everyday objects into stone. This process is actually caused by the high mineral content in the water which covers the objects, and causes them to appear petrified.

    Other notable "petrifying wells" in England are located in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire and Matlock Bath, Derbyshire.
