Mother trying to give up custody of 16 year old to father in texas without consent from me

Question

So I am only 16 but I will be 17 in like 3 months and my mom is mad because I moved out, so she decided that she was going to give up custody of me to my father in Texas, and he says that the Texas laws will then apply to me and I call bull because I am a NC citizen and im living with a mature adult and I work and go to high school still. So there is nothing that can be done because here in NC I was told by several legals that I could live on my own without being amancipated. SO WHAT is everyone elses perspective.

Yes, you can voice your opinions and feelings due to your age, but she is the adult, legal guardian of you..if you want to be emancipated you would have to file in court for this

i dont think she can do that after u are in 9th grade u can pick your own custody well im in florida but i think thats stupid ur gonna be 17 soon so really almost 18 and if u are staying in a safe place i think it is fine u are out of the house
