  1. There is nothing they can say to make you feel safe.

Let's get real no body likes other people's kids but their own.

I wouldn't trust anyone!!!!!and the nicer they are the more I wouldn't trust them because we all know people are not really all that nice!!!

The whole" ow your child is so cute" doesn't fly with me.

Put up baby spy cam around the House, make sure they have people they have babysat for before and go to the people's house to see who they babysat for and spend time watching them with your kid and how they show interest!!!

Never trust anyone with you babies!!!!

I did and ended up my child was being abused!!!

I'm not say this will happen to your child but it's better to be safe then sorry...trust no one!!!!

Only you know how to love and care for your child.

Please to the spy cam around the house so you can watch them while you are at work? or where every you might be,this way you will always know what goes on when you are not home and trust no one!!!

  2. Most parents, especially if they don't know you through a family friend or something, will feel better about hiring you if you have a babysitting certificate.  Many towns offer this class and it includes general first aid, resuscitation, the Heimlich maneuver, and other various things you might need for taking care of children.  Usually you have to be at least 13 years old to take this class.  Check with your town hall or local parks and recreation department.

Some parents also like to hear that you're a good student, that you're involved in respectable extracurricular activities, can cook somewhat (prepare and feed dinner), and that you are comfortable with changing diapers or helping with the "potty" if they are little kids.

Also, if you are young, offer to be a "mother's helper" instead of a full babysitter.  That way, the mother can see how you handle their children and are still there should an emergency arise, but they can get other things done around the house while you entertain and take care of the children.  After a while, the mother will feel more comfortable with leaving you alone and you can become a regular babysitter.  You will then have more responsibility and potentially make more money.

    Good luck!

  3. I wouldn't take anyones word for it, because I personally believe that you just can't trust people.  Someone who seems nice and has no criminal background can still become abusive, as we've seen on news recently.  I'd get nannycams and tell the nanny they will be on camera during the interview, and if they do mind, then that's a no. This scenario is if you have a baby or toddler who can't speak for themselves.  If you're looking for an older school age kid, that's a totally different situation.   I'm actually a stay at home mom because I just don't trust anyone else when they are babies and can't tell me what's going on.  I don't judge you moms who work.  Best of luck.

  4. If you are talking about a daytime sitter, some good questions to ask would be on day time TV... This may sound stupid BUT if you ask them about like shows like Opera and Judge Judy and the sitter knows a lot about it.. Then the parent would know during the day instead of watching the kids like they should, they are just watching the TV and letting the child do whatever he/she wants.

  5. will you get down on the floor and play with them, even if you get dirty? do you know how to work a fire exstingisor?do you plan on driving with my child?do you keep your purse and belongings up out of reach?
