This is a bit of a hot topic for some I'm just curious though how mothers across the nation feel about this

It is now in my state not sure about other states that if your daughter 14 or under and you want them to go on birth control Child protective services gets called.... if your child is under the age of 13 and half and they go in because they are pregnant Child protective services gets called

And suddenly i noticed at my sisters age which is 14 that ALOT of her peers are getting pregnant more then what seems normal.

Its almost like you cant let a teen girl get out of the house period.

  1. Im not a mother at all (thank god) but I just wanted to give my opnion as a 17 year old teenager. Teenagers period should not be getting pregnant. I believe if parents know (or are suspicious their daughter is sexually active) they should get their teen on birth control to prevent teen pregnancies. My best friend got pregnant this year and I lost respect for her completely. Now she is stuck with a child who was 'her mistake' that she has to take care of. A child teenager should not be burdened with a 'mistake'.

Its not that you cant let your teen out of the house, its that you have to keep them occupied by doing other things such as going out on the weekends, just spending time with them so theyre not off doing other things like s*x, drugs, ect. Thats how my mom kept me from doing those things.

Though, birth control is not only from keeping a girl from getting pregnant but for other things as well such as lightening/shortening periods, clearing up acne, and has great health factors.

14 year olds should NOT be getting pregnant, no teen should. Im not sure if its cause theyre being careless, the parents arent keeping a close eye on whats going on, or if the teenagers want kids, but something needs to change.

  2. I understand why cps (child protective services) would be called for any of these reasons. Sadly to many young girls are forced into prostitution and states are just trying to save the ones they can, but it also hurts them because of the fear of getting caught they might not try to get BC and wind up pregnant and ultimately may even end up getting an abortion.

As for girls not forced into having s*x I blame the parents and their weak morals and lack of rules. If I ever found out that one of my daughters was having s*x she wouldn't be allowed to leave the house without adult supervision.

  3. at 14 and younger, neither boys or girls need to be engaging in any kind of sexual activity. s*x isnot a game and should not be taken casually.

unfair as it sounds, parents have to be far more concerned with their daughters because if she becomes pregnant, its "mama's baby, daddy's maybe".  no teenager is mentally or emotionally prepared to handle a baby.  while their bodies look mature, their hormones are out of whack, the shows aimed at the adolescent set are filled with teen relationships touting s*x of some sort, the music is the same and none of these kids are mentally or emotionally ready for s*x in it's most basic sense. skip "love making"....they haven't got a clue.

girls need to know that their bodies are not meant to be shared with just any ol' boy, and s*x is not just something to do.  it has real and hard consequences.

unfortunately the government has decided to step into the parent role because obviously someone needs to counsel the parent(s) and the sexually active daughter. additionally, most of these young mothers will end up getting some kind of government assistance, which is a taxpayer expense and the taxpayers are tired of this amongst many other things.  these measures of Child Protective Services are meant to discourage teen s*x, but a better deterent may be to use an informational method...when each boy/girl reaches pre-teen age, each household receives a letter of mandatory sexual education training to be attended by the parent wit the child, annually until the child reaches 18.  this would be a better use of taxpayer money.

  4. I think that alot of people put all out on the parents but then the Law want to punish you for punishing your child

  5. I can understand the whys and what fores for the concern from CPS.  It is to make sure that kids are not mindlessly put on the pill but with good medical reason. When I was 13 I was put on birth control to prevent ovarian cysts and to regulate my cycle.  CPS came to our home because the school nurse informed them that I was on the pill.  They talked to my parents and the doctor and nothing came of it.   But if I was being forced to do something I would be grateful for the help.

  6. "Its almost like you cant let a teen girl get out of the house period."

Exactly. Girls need to be worried about school and their friends at that age, maybe a friend that's a boy at school, but not out running around, smoking, having s*x, getting drunk. That's where parents fail, is when they let their kids walk all over them.
