  1. I would take note (either in your head or paper) on what you are eating. It could be anything, not just your milk that could be making baby gassy.

  2. I know this may sound different but tomatoes and tomato based products can cause this in some babies! It won't hurt to try leaving this out of your diet for a while to see what happens.

  3. one word: fennel

you can buy the seeds almost anywhere- they sell them in the baking isle near the spices. Or you can get it at a health food store.

what you do is simmer water (@ 10 oz), turn off the heat, add @ 1/2 tsp fennel seeds & let them steep for 5-6 min. give them a stir & strain them (or I just pick them out w/ the spoon)

let the mixture cool to room temp & give it to the baby in a bottle whenever he is fussy from gas. (you can save the x-tra in the fridge for a few days)

My friend's mother was a midwife in Europe & gave me all of these natural alternatives & they work!!!

as far as what you can do to prevent it is stay away from strong foods (peppers, garlic, spicy etc) and make sure you're eating complex carbs (not white carbs) also no alcohol

  4. The most common gassy foods are Cabbage, onions, garlic, choclate and im sure there is many more but that is all I can remember

  5. Rule of thumb, if it gives you gas and bloat it will most likely do the same to him.  Although, it may have nothing to do with what you are eating.  How is his latch?  Does he cry a lot?  They can become gassy when they ingest to much air as well.  You could also try pumping and using the Dr. Brown's bottles (I used the glass ones), the vent system cuts down on the amount of air sucked in.  It helped my daughter.  Also not sure what kind of drops you are using, but Ovol made a difference in her as well.  Good luck! =)

  6. I would burp him best as you can. And you can exercise his stomach muscles. You take his legs and bend them at the knee towards his stomach. I always did that after burping the baby. It helps him pass gas and make his stomach muscles stronger.

  7. Unfortunately, just about anything you eat can be affecting him. I'd stick to an extremely bland diet for a couple of days and see if it helps him. Poor little guy!

I'm very pro breast, but as a last resort there is soy based formula. Make sure to move him around often (bicycle legs, etc.)

  8. I was told to stay away from chocolate, and any other food that would normally give a person gas.

An idea for helping your little one cope with the gas:  put a baby blanket in the dryer until it gets warm, fold the blanket and put it on the babies tummy (the warmth is supposed to help with the gas pain)
