Moths ,,.,..,,.why oh why do they only come out at night???????????????

Question

they appear at night all clumsy and brittle winged crashing into light bulbs,,.,,.thrusting there mad wings and eventually getting squashed in an old sock BUT why dont they simply get up in the morning like normal animals/creatures/insects????????? if they like the light get up early!!!!!!!!!!! whats your opinion???????

Perhaps they've finally seen the light mate, lazy blighters :)

To avoid being eaten by birds?  Its a survival strategy.  Ever "seen" a bird flying in the dark?  Bats have the upper hand when it comes to nocturnal activities.

They use the moon to navigate I think.

Because they like every where lit up for them.
