i don't memorise dictionaries so i cannot recall all the definitions but i can give examples..

lever- a seesaw or teeter-totter

pulley- a pulley

inclined plane- a slanted plane or surface

conduction-absorption of heat by a conductor

convection-movement of heat from a region of higher temp. to lower temp.

radiation-loss of heat to the surrounding

specific heat(i suppose it's specific heat capacity)- the amount of energy needed to raise the temp. of 1kg of a substance by 1°C, the unit is J gˉˡ° Cˉˡ.

the law states that energy cannot be created or destroyed but it changes from types of energy to different types of energy. example, a TV; electrical to light and sound. a fan; electrical to kinetic. Hydroelectric dams; potential to kinetic to electrical.
