What physical quantity does the slope of the Velocity-Time graph represent (if I'm not mistaken, it is acceleration?)?

What does the vertical intercept of the Velocity-Time graph represent (as in the b in y=mx b, and if i'm not mistaken again, is it time?)?

What do the signs (positive or negative) of the slope represent?

Thank you in advance everyone! =)

  1. I am assuming that velocity is drawn along vertical axis and time along horizontal.

    1. Yes, acceleration. Slope of the graph gives acceleration.

    2. For vertical intercept, t = 0. Therefore, vertical intercept represents initial velocity.

    3. Positive slope means that velocity is increasing and negative sign means that velocity is decreasing.

  2. 1. yup, sounds like acceleration

    2. Probably not time.  Initial velocity is my bet.

    3.  negative of positive slope determines if you are acceleration or decelerating.
