  1. Sounds like Ben Spies won't be going to Moto GP because they don't want ot pay him as much as he gets paid in AMA.  Which makes me wonder....What is being paid now?  Why is he getting paid more to race AMA than the average Moto GP rider gets?   IF he really wants to go to Moto GP why doesn't he take what ever they offer?

I hope that Nicky Hayden goes to Ducati, it's known for being a more aggressivesive bike and so Nicky should suck less.  LOL  And he can't be any worse than Marco.  Although I don't like Casey anymore than I like  Dani.  LOL

  2. 50 Kudos points for you.

    50 for me &

    50 for " 51 "

How many times have we mentioned that Ben Spies IS the next big thing?

He was mentioned so many times that the great Kropotkin, just started calling him " Ben "

The Alice Team looks like a belter !!!

As for Aspar going to Kwacker ................ I hope not, however the boys in green are the only team [ along ] with Suzuki, that don't field multiple bikes.

I would love to see Aspar go Suzuki & with Yoshimura / Rockstar Drinks throwing in the wage bill, it would Ben into MotoGP, were he belongs.

As a second team, the Alice would be a great choice for Ben. We all know the GP08 is a monster & the GP09 will be no different, and with Nicky almost getting his red shirt on, the factory seat is spoken for.

The Ducati seems to " that US way ". Power mad, real tyre spinning [ loose ] set up.

I really think Nicky will a match for the rest on the GP09.

As for Mika Kallio coming to the big class......... 12 months ago I would have laughed at the idea, due to his built, but after seeing Lorenzo's belting start and also Dovi's rides, I now think he could make a great rider. Shame that KTM / Roberts deal fell apart a few years back, as this would a no brainer for Roberts. Instant signer, and no wages to worry about !

If Kropotkin is right about just 99% of his predictions, there will nobody in the 250 class !!

Great question Proc. I enjoyed that.

Sorry it went off on one!

  3. I can't share the enthusiasm for Ben Spies as being the next great thing. I may well be proven to be wrong and will eat humble pie if that turms out to be the case. I really don't think that dominating in AMA is all that close to MotoGP level. It is a series that holds it riders strongly by its money, it certainly lacks a real major depth of serious competitive talent. 2 million bucks a year wage demand, if true, is the wrong signal to send out to teams fom a guy who is relatively unproven on the world stage. There is no shortage of capable riders for the seats, so what does Spies offer that is worth that kind of money?

Sete coming back. I am undecided on this as there is a part of me that says it makes no sense at all. Ducati have a young guy in the team who can ride the bike and it is common consent that teams are looking to younger and younger riders to build a future with. Sete is too old for Ducati to get much out of him and setting fast test times is completely different to a series of racing. Common sense would tell me that Ducati will go for the younger Hayden who we all know works like a trojan and can ride loose bikes. If he can get to grips with it then there is potential for a good few years relationship and the American market is very important for their road bike sales. If not him then some other younger option than Gibernau.

Pedrosa and Repsol Honda. A precocious talent and a miserable git. He can ride a bike when it works for him and in that stake I admire the guy immensely. I have a nagging doubt however that Honda may be backing a nearly guy and I will not be at all surprised if he never actually delivers them a championship. A Randy Mamola kind of career - I wonder what Spanish for "very much so" is? If the sponsor was not Repsol would he have this favoured position?

Marco Melandri to Kawasaki and indeed Kawa in general. I will not be surprised if the guy in the articles cynical comments about Kawasaki turn out to be proven wrong. I think that they are getting their act together and very well may show continued improvement, even during the rest of this season and into the next. I studied those bikes closely all weekend at Brno and they have something new, I would bet on it. I think Marco has done a smart thing and we all know that he is a good rider who made an unfortunate choice that no one could have foreseen.

So there you go , there is my two cents worth. Could all turn out to be c**p but what the h**l, been wrong before!

  4. I'd love to see Dovizioso or Simonceli considered for the second Ducati GP9. I think Toni Elias deserves a good ride next year. I'm not so sure about Ben Spies, I think he is too big for MotoGP.

  5. MotoGp has always been political and full of ego, I don't really care what goes behind back stage...unless its a brawl. I haven't kept up with this season at all. Rossi was the best, I really enjoyed watching him race, but MotoGP has always been some sort of a circus.
