MotoGP paddock full of talks after Pedrosa’s crash at Le Mans - MotoGP News
The incident between Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda and Marco Simoncelli of San Carlo Honda Gresini has become the talk of the paddock, which gathered views of officials and other teams after an incident took place at Monster Energy Grand Prix de France, at Le Mans.
The fall of Dani Pedrosa certainly changed the face of the French Grand Prix.
Within few laps of Pedrosa’s fall, the Italian rider was declared to undergo a ‘drive through’ penalty. It was an important decision for Simoncelli, as he was riding on Casey Stoner’s tail, holding the second position in the race.
The incident was crucial in the outcome of the race, which prolonged its affect into the results of the day. The unexpected and illegal manoeuvre from Marco Simoncelli gave him the lead in the race he was struggling for, but on the other hand, the Spaniard suffered a rash fall which injured him with a broken collar bone.
The Italian’s act was instantly declared as an illegal one, while he attempting an over-take.
Repsol Honda rider, Dani Pedrosa said, “Simoncelli overtook me, I passed him back and I had the better line. He just came into me, releasing the brakes and I could do nothing. I leave here with a broken collarbone and he with a ride through penalty, good for him! Yet again I come out worse off.”
Marco Simoncelli, while talking about the incident felt that he has not done any wrong act in the race and termed his move as a race ‘action’.
Simoncelli added, “I saw in the video that his bike was hopping a little bit and he lost the line, he touched me, when I saw he couldn’t make the corner I picked the bike up but it was too late.”
The Spanish rider recently came out of his recovery trainings which was a nightmare for the rider. With this event, he has again suffered an injury and feels it was not what he deserved after losing a chance to lead the World Championship points, for 2011 MotoGP season.
