MotoGP riders Dani Pedrosa, Casey Stoner looking forward to 2011 season start – MotoGP news
The MotoGP stars are having fun before starting the second test on February 22, 2011 at Sepang. After concluding the first at Sepang, riders headed to events held by their official teams.
Repsol Honda riders flew to Tokyo, Japan after the first test finished at Sepang. HRC held an event at Tokyo where the team displayed their new strength of three drivers. Dani Pedrosa, 2007 world champion, Casey Stoner debuting this season with Repsol Honda
and Andrea Dovizioso will ride for Repsol Honda this season. Hiroshi Aoyama is also the part of driver’s team for Repsol Honda.
The event was placed at Welcome Plaza Headquarters of Honda Motor Company, Tokyo. The occasion was held to present the HRC racing programs for motorcycle and motorsports racing on national and international levels.
Takanobu Ito, President and CEO of Honda Motor Company was also present at the event. The riders expressed their views about the 2011 MotoGP season.
Dani Pedrosa said, “I am very satisfied both with the result of the Sepang Test and the condition of my shoulder after the operation this winter. The most important thing is to continue working hard and learning, which is the only way to improve and to get
better each year. I hope to be consistent and get good results in every race.”
Meanwhile, his new teammate Casey Stoner said, “Very excited to be back at Honda. To form part of the official HRC team is like realizing a dream which I've had since I was very young. They have provided me with a package of the highest level, and that fills
me with great hope heading into the season.”
The Factory Yamaha Racing stars reached Thailand to participate and lead the convoy of Yamaha fans. The Yamaha riders were gathered by over 10,000 fans at Bangkok. Defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo led the convoy on a closed course with over 600 riders
on Yamaha. Lorenzo appeared in factory leathers for the enthusiasts. Ben Spies dropped the flag for his teammate to start the procession to reach the event venue.
Chief Executive Officer of Thai Yamaha Motor Co., LTD. Fumiaki Nagashima and Head of Big Bike Division Thai Yamaha Motor Co., LTD. Thanachai Lekavanichkul greeted their riders on the stage. Then the riders took part in interviews and signed autographs for
numerous fans.
Valentino Rossi and Ben Spies are headed towards their homes before they return for the second test session starting February 22 at Sepang.
