Motocross Star Robbie Maddison joins X Games 17 rally line-up
The freestyle motocross star, Robbie Maddison announced his plans to compete in the Rally competition at the upcoming Summer X Games 17. The Australian rider made this announcement on Wednesday afternoon at Chicago Auto Show.
Robbie Maddison, who is renowned for his freestyle motocross talents, raised the curtain on his RMR Hyundai Veloster a few moments prior to making his announcement of participating in the rally event at this years’ X games rally. the 29-year-old plans to
race in this classy brand-new model from the Korean automaker this July. He would have to spend a lot of time on the seat of his Hyundai Veloster in the upcoming months if he plans on making a serious impact in the upcoming X Games.
Maddison made it clear that this new decision would not affect his freestyle plans at summer X. Missing out on the Motocross Best Trick gold at last years’ X games and settling for a silver medal instead, he plans on going on the way this way.
Expressing his excitement over his participation in two sports at the upcoming X Games, he updated his Twitter status to, “Bringing the heat on 2 and 4 this yr. I'm stoked. Thanks to Rhys Millen and team Hyundai, it just got a whole lot more exciting.”
Robbie Maddison, also known as “Maddy,” is renowned for his freestyle motocross talents, breaking records and creating a real buzz in the world of action sports by his fearless attitude. His distance-jumping records and innovative freestyle tricks confirm
him as one of the best motocross rider in the world. The most epic stunt of his life may well be the Moto-x jump he performed over the Corinth Canal in Greece in the March of 2010. The daredevil became the first motocross rider to have achieved something of
this sort.
Discussing this amazing feat, Maddison said, “Jumping across the Corinth Canal became a challenge I just could not resist. This Jump involved the highest consequences I have faced so far. I believe that sometimes you have to take risks in life to become
wiser and facing a challenge like this will help get me ready for the next aim I will face in the future. I am thrilled about managing to pull it off, as you know there is only one opportunity to get it right!” One never knows what to expect from this amazing
rider next.
This year’s Summer X Games rally is beginning to give a look of an action sports all-star challenge rather than a Rally America race. Last month, the legendary Shaun White, who is a professional snowboarder and skateboarder, shocked the world by announcing
his plans to enter the world of rally and raised the curtain on his No. 86 Subaru rally car.
There is a chance of him driving this Subaru at the X Games this summer, joining the likes of Brain Deegan, Dave Mirra, Ken Block and Travis Pastrana. Robbie Maddison has just added himself to the all-star line-up after his announcement.
