  1. you have to be in great shape if your going to get on a track, but your know where near ready for that. If your just going to s***w around and trail ride it's alot of fun. Be careful if you had problems w/ knees(physical therapy?), b/c it's tough on your knees. For your first bike you should get an enduro. Maybe a 200cc 4 stroke are something like that.

  2. what you want to do with the bike will determine the price. a CRF150 can be had for around $1600 it is a funn little bike made for riding around the woods with your family. the CRF150R is a highstrung rocketship meant for serious racing by skilled riders you can land one of those for around $3500 used. my guess is either would fit you. good luck and have fun!!!!

  3. Go along to your local club and ask a few questions there about sections to ride in and whether they have a girls section as at least then you won't have to mix it with the boys.  If you have had leg problems you would need to consider riding with good quality knee braces and they can be expensive.  I know the ones my son has were about $1000.  But you can get cheaper.

You do't say what age you are so it is difficult to say what bike you should have but going by your height and the fact that you intend to race you would be better with either an 85cc Yz, Kx or Cr or a Crf150r.  But again you have to be under 16 to race those so ask at your local club.  By asking locally you also find out what the others your age are racing and you may even find someone who wants to sell their bike as kids are always outgrowing them and having to move to the next level.

Also ask what requirements you have to fill to get a race licence as where I am juniors racing for the first time have to do 5 hours of training with an acredited coach and then they have to do at least 5 hours training every year that they are a junior.  This is all documented in a junior log book along with any accidents that the rider has been in and any race incidents that the rider has been in.  That way a steward can look and see what the rider has been up to in past events.  But that only applies to australia and is most likely different to where you are.

  4. Prices of dirtbikes vary, it all depends on how much u want to pay for one.. and you are a good size to do it to get out there and do it, good luck and don't break a leg!!!!!!
