Looks like this year is going to be even better than the last, with some exciting rider changes and michelin closing the gap on bridgestone (maybe?).

who do you think is going to be the stand out this year and win? for me its wide open, after last years performace its hard not to back stoner on the ducati, Melandri will really benifit from the move to ducati and become even more consistant

Hopefully yamaha have ironed the bugs out of rossi's machine this year , and with michilin on the improve he will be right back in the hunt again i think.

im really excited about lorenzo and divizioso joining the pack. both have dominated the 250cc class for the last few years and have scored good premier class riders. i think these 2 will cause a few upsets this year.

repsol honda i think need to pull there finger out this year and recapture some of that 90's magic, though i dont think it will be there year.

As an australian i have to back stoner , just interested to hear your thoughts

  1. well as said this off season seems to have been ages.... but good things come to those who wait and weve all been waiting patiently havent we.

i 2 cant wait 4 the new boys to mix it with the rest of them but being a brit and a bit biased im going for our james to53land to finish as best newcomer ( long shot i know but he has the talent ) and vale for the title after a hard fought battle with the red rocket of your casey and chris (no7 ) vermuelen.

roll on the start of that first race under the floodlights wow its gonna be one h**l of a spectacle all i can say is hold on tight were in for a great season.

  2. Its likely to be better with every new season...you've got everything new....New bikes power, new rider joining in the frays and best is, you've got a new world champ (could be)...

I hope V Rossi will give everyone a hard foght for the championship title..No doubt, Stoner will once again, try to claim what is belongs to him, (the Championships title)....

About the new recruits from the 250's.....they've a long way to go....

  3. Hey Matt

I too can't wait - it's been a long winter (or summer in your case!) break, and having the first race floodlit is for me the most excititing think for ages (well, at least in motogp!)

I do think the Honda's are going to be strong this year and could even take the constructors championship - and Dovi looks like he will hit the ground running.

But the little red rocket is going to be the one to catch - exciting huh!

  4. Hi Matt. I too think its going to be a great season. though winter testing shows Stoner to be ahead still. Rossi on the same tyres, but the Yam still seems slower in a straight line. may be better under braking. Melandri is struggling the same way Capirosi did. I'm not sure how he will cope come the green flag.  I think Dovi is going to be the star to watch. and the work that Hayden has put in might see the repsol change position on its number one rider. but we have not seen too much of pedrosa through the winter. either through Rain or injury. even if Stoner runs away with the championship there is still plenty to watch down the order. and the 125s is going to be awesome too.   Cant wait.

  5. I must say i also am excited about the start of the season, with a great opener under the flood lights, been to BOL'DOR and LE MAN 24 hour bike races it was mega, although the Moto GP race will be a 100% lit so its not quite the same but its still a great idea, and with a couple of USA rounds its giving our great sport even greater coverage.

As for Lorenzo he will be in the hunt all season and i predict some great results for him, be interesting to see how the times compare  with Bridgestone and Michelin in the same team, the data collected will form future decision i'm sure.
