Question:

Motogp coverage on the BBC?

Have just heard the BBC have gained exclusive rights to show Motogp in the UK for the next 5 years, all this on the channel who couldn't find the time in their main news bulletins to mention Scott Redding's achievment's at Donnington, but found plenty of time to comment on Hamilton's failure in an F1 GP that day.

They have committed to hide the smaller classes behind the RED Button and on i player and only show the MotoGP race on the main channel, I assume they are to continue with their appaling commentry team and compare everything to car racing, am I the only one who will miss the generally intelligent rambling of Messers Moody, Ryder & Mamola.

  1. much rather watch it on eurosport when you get the banter from Ryder/moody

  2. well the BBC will do there best to hide all British success, well joey donlop got all of 10 seconds for his 24th 25th &26th tt wins

  3. No your not the only one. there are petitions on here and elsewhere to try and save Moto GP. also to try and get the Beeb to employ Julian Toby and Randy. but all this is very upsetting to the fans of eurosports coverage.

Your question is very well put I commend you. The Scott Vs Hamilton is well worthy of a mention. But then again I haven't seen any questions about the F1 Circus going to Donny yet. maybe I'm the only one who finds this disheartening and a real upset for the circuit.

Back to the question, you can only record the smaller classes if your actually viewing the screen too. How sad for those of us who cant stay awake at places like Japan and Malaysia

  4. Hello Richard

No, you are not the only onw who will miss that commentry team - and all the other class races.

I think anyone who loves the racing will be appalled at the fact that whilst trying to appeal to the mass market - the promoters have shat all over their bread and butter fans who watch the free practice and wualifying and pole and all the other races, by trying to appeal to the mass market!

If I were more sober I would lay out a reasoned and balanced argument (unlike the beeb) but as I have just got in from the ppub and now have to clean raspberry jam off og my keyboard I will finish by agreeing with you whole heartedly and telling dorna to stick their advertising revenue up their jacksie.

    night night

  5. Yes, its a sad year in the UK when the only place you can watch MotoGP for free is on the Beeb.

    Worst sports channel out there.

Im going to stick to my motogp.com paid for service.

It might cost, but it also means i dont have to listen to Steve Parris mess up every other line.
