  1. no you can't

  2. You might as well buy a decent Trek bike. Assuming you are in any sort of shape you can easily go 15MPH for at least a few miles. Plus you don't have to buy an gas.

  3. I'm a little confused, you're using terms that are applicable other ways.

When I see "motorbike" I automatically think "small motorcycle."  "Side of the street" still means "on the street."

I'm guessing you mean a motorized bike - a bicycle with an attached engine.  And by side of the street, I reckon you mean the sidewalk.

There's plenty of engines out there, and I'm partial to the Golden Eagle line.  They look to be pretty sturdy and effective, and the fuel mileage is crazy.  As for the sidewalk, no way.  Take the bike onto the sidewalk with the engine on and you're going to incur the wrath of the constabulary.

The good news: there's a gray area there.  If the engine's off and there are no laws prohibiting the bike on the sidewalk, then you should be okay.  That makes for some dandy shortcuts.  Then once you're back onto the street, fire it up and off you go.

Just Google "Bicycle engine."  There's plenty of engines out there to suit any budget.  And for a pricey blast from the past, check out the Whizzer: 124cc of retro fury.
