Motor Scooter License?

i'm 14 and i want to get my drivers permit next year when i'm 15 but i was thinking that instead of a car i want one of those motor scooter things ya know? like ones you sit on but do you have to go to like a special school to get your license for riding one of those or do you have to go to driving school first?

Laws differ by state.

In California, you are legally allowed to ride a scooter if the engine is under 50cc (mine is 49cc) and you have a valid CA drivers license.

I do not yet have a motorcycle license, although I am getting my permit on Monday.  It is not required to have an M class license to ride a scooter.

The sad part is, scooters get boring quick, and now I'm looking into motorcycles.
