Motor Scooter Rules?

I live in MA. What do i need and how old do I have to be in order to drive one of those gas powered motor scooters. I heard about the ones that get 70 miles to the gallon on NBC Nightly News last night and I was just wondering.

A 50cc scooter is classified as a moped, but anything bigger is a motorcycle

Some states you can be 15 and ride them  up to 50cc and 35 mph. Now that is a scooter that can be titled and plated. Most of the cheap imports can not and when they can they do not run long. Look at the Genuine, Buddy and Derbi also Kymco scooters. There are many sizes and styles here so maybe one will do it for you. There are j*p scooters also buy you pay a lot for the name. Most of the junk on the market and Internet are imported from china and a way to spot them is they are way to cheap. The ones I have mentioned are guality scooters and are good buys. They will get from 110mpg on the high end down to about 50mpg. Also it is a good idea to take a MSF course to help to ride safe.
