  1. Try this for starters. There are also some great videos that would help a ton. Gary Semics from the forum below offers some awesome instructional videos.

  2. Practice your holeshots, this is probably the most important part if you start in front it will make your life easier. Also corners, you will cut your lap times down a lot if you can corner well. For more tips on riding visti twmx.com on the left hand navigation menu there is a how to section this will help a lot, there are a lot of tips from the pros on that section. Best of luck!!

  3. its motocross.

    and practice holeshots and cornering.

and you dont need a fox jersey and a shoei helmet, just a helmet that is dot and snell approved, and a jersey pants and gloves, you need motocross boots and a chest protector too.

  4. Hey. I am a girl and I race too. Holeshots are a must! Also get a lot of practice on the whoops and on burms. oh and if you get sand or fine dirt in your throttle clean it out before you ride again because it causes the throttle to stick and that could be real real bad. Good luck!

  5. I would suggest you save up and get a few lessons as basic bike skills are necessary for racing and that is the best way to learn the right way from the start.  I know you said you can ride the bike but being able to ride and being able to race are very different.

Most local clubs run basic training days where you learn to corner correctly and learn where is best for your weight to be for every situation.  They will pick up all the little things like having your elbows up when you ride and being with other kids training you get to see how they do it and you can gauge your speed better.  Having others with you on the track also gives you a guide as to what speed you should hit a jump for safety.

Learning to holeshot is important but it isn't the first skill you need as being out in front is no good if you don't know what to do once you are out there and things feel a lot different when you have other riders breathing down your neck and on your back wheel.

So go visit your local club and see about joining and then you can turn up to practise days and find out about basic training. By joining the local club you will also get to meet heaps of others who love bikes and motocross as well.

  6. go to transworldmotocross.com...

go to the how to link....

there is a ton of info there to help you in getting started in racing to practice to bike set up to anything you may need.....

  7. Work on your turning, acceleration, and landing. Oh, and also, Kawasaki is the best there is! You should get a Shoei helmet, Fox jersey and pants, and if you can afford it, Alpine Star boots.
