With a motor yacht it's all about the destination. The journey isn't all that exciting, you just want to get there (and home again) as quick as possible.

With a sailing yacht it's all about the journey. The destination is just somewhere to stay until the next tide. It's all about making the yacht perform well in the changing conditions.

Sailors are a more highly evolved breed than the fuel burning types.

Biased of course, but you are more likely to see the owner of a sailing yacht  come over to lend a hand to another sailor who's boat would fit  in  his salon.

Sailors "sail" for the love of it .
