Motorbike Problems 150cc quad?

about 3 or 4 years ago i bought a quad off ebay and it had no name just an ebay motorbike i named it one day it seemed to not want to start and i gave up on it and left it for about 1 year and i had spare time so i thought i would have a look i opend up the carby and i found blue glugy stuff in there i cleaned it out now any other ideas to help me get it going

  1. If you have left it that long don't start it or the engine will seize.

    charge the battery, and change the engine oil as it will be congeiled. clean the sparkplug(s) aswell.


  2. as answer before really  also put new fuel in it -ie- fuel tank clean the fuel filter  and clean the carb out properly with some compressed air from halfords a small can is cheap about  ÃƒÂ‚£3-4 pounds you can blow the jets out with this .   what happens is the petrol goes sticky and clogs the jets up , take the jets out put them in clean petrol for  a bit and then blow them through with the air.

  3. old fuel will cause the carb to corrode...strip it ,and remove copper jets and blow the lot out with an air hose..then refit...remove the spark plug and poor a little fuel in the hole...this will help it fire up...
