  1. I'm sorry to hear about you're accident. I don't know about the removal of the screws in his pelvis.Changes are he will live with it. I hope you are OK.

  2. barry sheen can answer that for you,he dare,nt walk under a magnetic crane

  3. Generally when pins and plates are surgically inserted to hold bone together, they are permanent.

You'd have to talk to your doctor to find out for certain, based on your specific situation, though.

Or in this case, he'd have to talk to HIS doctor :)

  4. they are left there unless they start causing trouble

  5. nope  as his body would of stopped growing by the time of the accident   the chances of removal are slim  and if they were removed  the area around  site would be very weak  so would  proberly split again

the only good news is  he can tell you when the weathers about to change cos his bones will ache

  6. They are in there forever.but, he can have it changed for different plate but that is only if he is having problems or some kind of discomfort. the surgery is very expensive.

  7. This guy had a lot.

  8. no-the screws and plates will be a permanent fixture for as long as your b/f is on this fair earth;hey are made of a stainless steel alloy which is totally corrosion free, and does not set off metal detectors-usually!!He may need new pins fitting as he grows bigger-you dont say how old he is;sorry to hear about his `off`-hope it aint put him off motorbikes for good??

  9. I've had a metal plate in my femur for 24 years.I was told it could cause more problems by taking out, i.e chance of infection, more scarring etc.

  10. I know you want to hear yes, but more than likely they will always be there.

  11. In there for good now.

Its no big deal. I have plates and screws in my right arm and my left leg.

Great scars to go with them aswell !

  12. no chance .. why waste nhs money unnecessarily ??

  13. if you want them to be removed  you probably could  but you dont have to

  14. I had a plate put in my leg when i was 7 {now 42} and its never been a problem  think they only remove if its causing any problems
