Motorcycle Helmet ?

I just got my first motorcycle after a year of borrowing my dads. Now its time for me to get a new helmet. I need a full face helmet but I am having difficulty picking one. I do not have the $500 to dish out for an Arai or a Shoei and I dont want to buy a P.O.S. helmet that is noisy as s**+- and fogs up if I breath the wrong way. HELP!!! please :)

Also I'd like to keep it as close to $150 as possible.

  1. I currently have a HJC and dont like it as much as the KBC I had before. The HJC is noisier and feels cheaper.

  2. I use HJC & they are very reasonable in price, Usualy less than $150

They also come in many many different colors & designs to match bikes paint jobs.

It has vents on the top & front to stop fogging, I live in the mountains so it gets very cold here & have never fogged up

**ADD** I have the CL-15 Cyclone in yellow $129.99

  3. Scorpion EXO and HJC make quality helmets that are SNELL approved. There are few helmets in their price category that come close to the quality they posses.

  4. Check www.rockymountainatv.com They have a large selection of very well priced helmets.

I personally like o'neal's they are light weight very affordable and meet and exceed many different regs.

  5. Like has been mentioned, HJC, KBC, and some Scorpions are great alternatives as far as under 150 dollars go.  There is even a new company out called Arashi that I have used and it is actually pretty nice.  I spent 80 bucks on the helmet. I think i can get you a link...let me see...

i got the blue one with a mirrored faceshield for 100 dollars.

Comfortability it is very nice for the price and pretty quiet.  I ride around with headphones and cannot hear the wind at all and the music is crystal clear.  This helmet does a great job and for the price i would definitely recommend it.

  6. I've got a HJC FS10 that I really like. All manufacturers have good and bad helmets, even Arai and Shoei. The important thing is to try on the helmet and make sure it's comfortable before you buy it. You won't want to bother with it if it gives you a headache.

The SHARP tests done by the UK government tested how much impact was transmitted through the shell and lining of various helmets. You can enter the brand and model number of the helmet you're looking at and see how it did, though I'm not sure they have all the US helmets available.

  7. Another vote for HJC . Well made helmets at a good price.

  8. HJC cl-max and sy-max

  9. HJC, yes, but only if the full face portion can be pulled upwards or

down again as desired.  Nolan makes HJC seem quaint.  I own a

Bell, KBC, and HJC.  I've thrown away worse.

  10. Go Get A HJC and some ear plugs that  will work for you.Plain and simple

  11. I have HJC. 149.00. It IS a little noisy but ear plugs or phones and a MP3 player helps out. I never found a helmet that didn't have some wind noise and the HJC is just a little quieter than the others I have had. (Bell etc.)

  12. Brand name bandannas are $10 or less available everywhere and they don't fog up.
