Motorcycle Leathers.............?

Does anyone know where my hubby can get some leathers from please? He is slightly bigger than the 'normal biker' and we can't find any leathers to fit him across the chest, leg or waist. If anyone has any info on made to measure leathers or a shop which can cater for slightly bigger bikers i would really appreciate the info. (He is not fat just broad and short legged and has a slight beer belly) Please, no rude comments. We are in Essex. Thank you. xx

  1. If money is no object, then try BKS.

They are bloody expensive but worth there weight in gold.

Tailor made to every 2cm in all places.

Personally measured by Brain K Samson himself.

My suit (also of a portly gent ! ) set me back a cool £1571 inc p&p. Sounds alot, but I have been down at Cadwell / Oulton / Nurburgring and Spa, IN THE SAME SUIT !! Each time was only £80 - £100 for the touch up.

My Skin and bones are in perfect nick.

My wallet ......................... well whats life worth?

  2. There are plenty of places you can go and get made-to-measure leathers. The nearest to you would probably be Cissbury Leathers. They have a shop in Findon Village in Sussex see this web site - http://www.cissburyleathers.co.uk/index....

    Others are

BKS - well repected and highest quality

  3. vansons leathers

  4. I had some leathers made at motorcycle accessories in Leicester,  go  for cow hide, not sheep nap, that's for disco dancers, it's not crazy money and they'll last for ever, mine were made in '79 cost me  ÃƒÂ‚£80 and still are like new,  despite years of motorsport, trials, touring, greenlaneng, riding to worketc etc, think they've shrunk a little around the waist lol

  5. "Slight beer belly." I can relate to that VERY well!! (Says Lee as he sits here with a bottle of San Miguel!)

Well, I've done a little searching for you, and the sites below seem to be good starting posts. I see one of them is based is Norwich. Not Essex I know, but there's only Suffolk separating you. Might be worth paying them a visit some time...

    Good luck in your quest.

  6. There is a brand called Bikers Club and they make leathers that are slightly bigger than your average slim jim leathers. You should be able to get a set and usually most leather reapir shops will be able to adjust the size to fit your hubby perfectly. Bikers Club brand is worldwide so you shouldnt have a problem. Good Luck!

  7. I'm a 54" chest and short legged so I had a heck of a time!

Finally got some from JTS leathers in coalville, leicestershire.

They do have a website if you google JTS

I think they were under £300 and fit well too.
