Last year my b/f got hurt racing, so he let his brother ride his bike home, on the way home the bike was wrecked. So since it was October, and the bike was wrecked there was no reason to have insurance on the bike. We tried to take it off, and everything was going fine, they said they'd send us a paper that he needed to sign, but we never got them.

So now they suspended his license plate, and want it for 3 months.

The thing is, we went to get new insurance put on thinking if we just put it back on we wouldn't have any problem, they renewed the insurance, but they still want the plate, and won't issue registration for it.

His bike is still on a loan, and is cosigned with his stepfather. What can we do to make the bike legal and still be able to ride it before the 3 months?

  1. When a vehicle has a lien (money owed on it) you are required to keep insurance on it. Doesn't matter if it is being used or not. This is probably why the plate was suspended.
