  1. Well, um...I don't know where you could buy one cheap that's new.  I have a street bike but I bought it used for about the price you mentioned.  I would suggest just going to the local dealers around where you live to see if you can find a bike, or if they have any.  If not, you could place like, and ad in the paper saying that you are looking for a motorcycle for sale.  Hope this helps!  My question is here:  http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  2. Most motorcycle dealers also have used motorcycles.  Make sure you have someone with you who knows about motorcycles because a lot of dealers are not the most trustworthy people in the world, and you may end up paying a lot more than you should for a motorcycle.

You can also try eBay there are a ton of used motorcycles sold there in the eBay motors section.

Craigslist.com is also another option.  They have a motorcycle classified section.

  3. You are not going to get either of those bikes you posted for years to come.  First off they are too expensive, and if you tried those as your first bike you'll probably end up dead off the side of the road.   Search craigslist and ebay and keep your mind open.  A motorcycle is a motorcycle, its going to be cool no matter what it is.

For that kind of money you could definatly get something decent sport bike from the 90s.  You might want to look for a GS500 or something along those lines that have less fairing, so WHEN you drop it, it doesn't do much damage.

btw... Motorcycles take alot more maintenance than cars.  They eat through tires, you need to lube/adjust the chain, and check your tire pressure alot.

also Dont forgot you need to buy gear with your bike as well.  Even a low speed 20mph crash can land your *** in a ton of pain for months to come if your not wearing the right stuff.
